How it works

Relate counselling is open to everyone. Whether you are married, living together, in a same-sex relationship, separated, divorced or single, our confidential service can help you deal with your relationship difficulties. You can come on your own or with a partner. We help all sorts of people in all sorts of situations, and we can help you, whether you’re in a new relationship, in a long-term relationship, or not currently in a relationship at all. We help with large relationship threatening problems to issues that just make things a little less than perfect. Even if things are going perfectly for you, we can help keep things that way.

Call us on 01708 441722 or email us and we will give you an initial assessment appointment, usually within 2 weeks. When you come in, you will be seen by a trained counsellor, who will ask some questions about you and your partner and your relationship. At this stage you will also talk about the best times for your sessions, and you will discuss the cost of counselling. The counsellor will make sure that you get the appropriate service from Relate which could be either relationship counselling, sex therapy or family counselling.
